The Producers: Meet Austin Terrell
1) Who are you? Is this your first time working at Vintage Theatre? What roles/shows might patrons have seen you in previously?
I'm Austin Terrell! THE PRODUCERS is my second show with Vintage Theatre. I played Robert Shaw in last season's production of THE SHARK IS BROKEN.
2) What did you want to be growing up? How close did you get or did it completely change?
Growing up, I went through many iterations of what my future would look like - pastor, lawyer, hotelier (I wanted to own a rustic Pacific Northwest B&B like the one in "SO I MARRIED AN AXE MURDERER") - but throughout all of these, what I really always wanted to be was an actor. And here I am! I've always ALWAYS been drawn to the stage.
3) What is your current dream job?
Working onstage and off all over the world as a creative performer, producer, director, and ideator. There are so many wonderful, amazing stories just waiting for the right people to come along and bring them to life!
4) Would you ever want to be a Producer?
Absolutely! I love working with other people creatively, putting all of the pieces together, and getting to create something new for an audience.
5) What is your favorite part of the show?
Ooooo, that's a tough one. I love all of my duets with Andy, and the incredible energy of this ensemble cast. If I had to pick a favorite at this point - it's probably Ulla's introduction scene - classic Mel Brooks comedy, incredible dancing, and such a fun song!
