The Producers: Meet Amanda Aurigemma

1) Who are you? Is this your first time working at Vintage Theatre? What roles/shows might patrons have seen you in previously?

My name is Amanda Aurigemma and this is my first show at Vintage! I haven't done much performing since moving to Colorado, but I've danced in and choreographed several original musicals with Empathy Theatre Project in Boulder.

2) What did you want to be growing up? How close did you get or did it completely change?

Growing up, I wanted to be a part-time biochemist, part-time archeologist, and live a double life as a spy. Now I am a data systems engineer with a career primarily specialized in oncogenomics and bioinformatics, with more recent experience in the nonprofit sector . No comment on that third career aspiration.

3) What is your current dream job?

I absolutely love that I get to work as an engineer and performer and feel very fortunate to have made my career in areas I feel passionately about... but my dream job would be a philanthropist - inherit a bunch of money and spend my time working with local organizations to help turn that money into as much social good as possible - and spend the rest of my time dancing, taking higher-ed classes learning anything and everything, volunteering, and acquiring new skills.

4) Would you ever want to be a Producer?

Not in the slightest, but I appreciate the people who do.

5) What is your favorite part of the show?

I can't tell if this question is asking about my favorite part of the show itself or of being in it, but I'll interpret it as the latter: my favorite part of being in this show is getting to learn from the people in it. The cast and production team are so incredibly talented and hard-working, and they are teaching me so much to help me grow in this craft and as a human being. I'm also just having so much fun with the choreography and getting to spend time with such delightful people :)
