Meet The Cast of The Mystery of Edwin Drood: Makenzie Couch

Where are you from? What's your favorite role you've ever played? What roles might patrons have seen you in previously?

I’m originally from Phoenix, Arizona.

One of my favorite roles I have played is when I went on for Beth in Vintage’s recent production of Merrily We Roll Along. As the female presenting swing for the show, I went on for five performances in the roles of Beth, KT, Meg/Scotty, and Dory/Mrs. Spencer.

What is your role in the cast/creative team?

I am playing the role of Rosa Bud/Deirdre Peregrine in The Mystery of Edwin Drood!

What is the best part of that role/being involved in this show?

I have loved getting to do another show with my friends Adam and Erica while also quickly befriending the cast members I had not met yet. The best part of the show has been working so closely with this terrific cast!

Do you have a favorite song or moment from the show?

My favorite moment in the show is the song “No Good Can Come From Bad”.

Do you have any favorite Holiday Traditions you're looking forward to this season?

I’m looking forward to finding new ways to celebrate the holidays in Colorado and then heading back to Arizona for a sunny Christmas spent with my family and dogs.

In this show, the audience gets to choose how the show will end because Charles Dickens passed away before he could finish it. Is there a show/movie/book you'd like to change the ending of if you could choose?

If I could change the ending of any other book/movie/show, I would change the ending of Teen Beach 2. If you know, you know.

What can audiences look forward to with this show?

Drood audiences can look forward to hearing some beautiful voices, seeing some amazing costumes, interacting with the cast members throughout the show, and voting on a detective, a murderer, AND lovers for the end of the show!
