• Gary gets more than he bargained for when he rights a childhood wrong in “The Besting of Friends” by Craig McNamara.

• Jack and Liz’s friends disrupt their divorce plans in “Friendly Persuasion” by Dan Borengasser.

• Lauren’s college friend threatens to ruin her career in “October Surprise” by Robert Weibezahl.

• Owen teaches Sam a thing or two about beer and life in “Venom” by Jim Moss.
